Cheques presentation to beneficiaries 22 July 2018

A total of £11,000 was shared amongst a number of local charities.

The main beneficiaries were the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity and Families InFocus, but many other charities and supporters also benefited and runners ran in support of their own favourite cause – some further 25 charities and, from those who have informed us, at least another £19,000 raised.

Rotary chair of the Races Robert Cappin said “I must acknowledge and thank the generous support from our sponsors without whom the event simply would not be possible – our main sponsor Edmund Carr Chartered Accountants, but also D&B Scaffolding, Allied Vehicle Rentals Ltd, Teledyne e2v, Marriage’s The Master Millers, Great Baddow Parish Council and Great Baddow Community Centre.

A huge shout out also goes to the local residents of Great Baddow for their tolerance and support, it’s amazing how many of them turn out to cheer on the runners. And thanks to all the Rotarians, volunteers, marshals, helpers, stall holders, RAYNET, Hospital Radio, Police Cadets, Southminster Scouts, Sea Cadets and many more who together make it a great event”.

The Races have been fully approved by the British Association of Road Races (BARR) inspection team sanctioning Rotary to stage the Great Baddow Charity Races again in 2019.  A date for the diary is Sunday 19 May 2019. Be there!
