World polio day and visit of District Governor, Clive Edwards

This morning was the day in the year when our District Governor, Clive Edwards of the Porthcawl club, paid us his official visit.  He reminded us of the aims set by both the President of Rotary International and the President of Rotary GB&I (Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland) and concluded by presenting President Rosemary with a Certificate of Thanks, recognising that in 2017-18 the club had exceeded Rotary’s request for a donation of $100 per member to The Rotary Foundation .

Club member Maggie Hughes, who was last year’s District Governor, also made a presentation of a Presidential Citation from the President of Rotary International, to recognise the club’s achievements in the fields of membership, sustainable service projects, giving to Foundation and building awareness of Rotary in 2017-18.  The wording of the Citation reads “…..for helping Rotary make a difference to the lives of people all over the world.”
