California Dreamers social night

Four members of Prestwick Rotary had an entertaining night out on 20th July at the Gaiety in Ayr with an earlier meal at the excellent Stage Door restaurant.

We were treated to a fantastic performance from a group of musicians with a show called  "California Dreamers, The Sounds of Laurel Canyon." The group consisted of a drummer, bass player, keyboard, guitarist and a male and female lead singer. This was a multi-talented group that could sing solos and in harmonies.

The music covered was from 1965 to 1975 and came from the Los Angeles music scene. Lots of talented musicians were living in the area at the time including CSNY, The Eagles, Mamas and Papas, The Monkeys, The Turtles, Carol King and many more.

It was an excellent night out and I would like to thank Edith, Mary and Andy for coming along.
