On Saturday 24th January, the Inner Wheel Club of Chelwood Bridge held a 50s & 60s Night at Conygre Hall, Timsbury in aid of President Sam Jordan’s Charity of the Year, Great Western Air Ambulance. With warm snacks from the Inner Wheel ladies, and a well stocked bar run by the Rotary Club of Chelwood Bridge, it was an evening of fun, laughter and a lot of dancing from Andy Max, singing and playing his double bass with his father, DJing assisting in the intervals. A large number of the guests arrived in various different outfits from the era, with an abundance of pink ladies, black wigs and even a group of potato heads! The dance floor filled minutes after the music started and stayed that way all evening. At the interval Jim ran his usual game of “reverse bingo” which had a lot of people confused and created a lot of hilarity, the eventual winner walking away with £150! Bath Party Shop also gave away a £25 gift voucher for the best dressed competition, which was won by Lauran Hurst and Alana Sandall who both looked amazing in their 50s style dress.
Sam hopes that everyone had a great time and is sure that they raised a fantastic sum for the Great Western Air Ambulance. A big thank you to the organisers and helpers who gave us a brilliant evening.
