​14 mile Rotary Walk reopens

The Relaunch of the route for the Dronfield Barn Rotary Walk took place on Saturday 12th May2017 Coal Aston Community Centre was the start point and the new Walk Brochure was available. The walk was re-opened by MP Lee Rowley.



The original walk was put together by RC Dronfield to celebrate The Millenium. It is probably the only permanent memorial
The cost was £65.000 inculding the Easy Access Trail at Holmesfield.
In 2016 responsibility for the Dronfield Barn Rotary Walk was transferred to Dronfield Hall Barn as part of their Lottery Grant which included Health & Wellbeing.
The route has been extensively restored. There are 97 stiles, 3 bridges, a walkway and 280 route markers.
There are 10 Walk Wardens who each look after a section of the route. The route forms part of the Chesterfield Walking Festival.
A new brochure for the walk is available showing the wholw route plus matters of interest on the route. This is available from The Hall Barn,Dronfield Library and Steel's Ironmongers on Chesterfield Road. Cost £3.
With the help of the Walk brochure anyone can follow the route essily for themselves.
Just buy the brochure and away you go.

Ukraine

more We made contact with the Rotary Club of Warsaw Wilanow, Poland, very soon after the war between Russia and Ukraine started. Through them we sent an initial £1000 to help the people of Ukraine.
