Clyde Marine Challenge September 2018

The Rotary Club of Rothesay celebrated success in this year's Clyde Marine Challenge which was held between 28th and 30th September sailing from Largs to Tarbert and back via the Kyles of Bute. Six yachts participated and Rotary was represented by "Mistral" skippered by Ralph Anderson and "Parallel Motion" skippered by Alan Marshall. Ralph and his crew of Ronnie McAlister and new member Phillip Twigg, to the left of Ralph, won the main prize, the Roy Hepburn Rose Bowl. Alan, pictured on the right with Ronnie Falconner, who crewed with him, was presented with a bottle of whisky as runner up. Overall the event raised £3,000 for charity of which £1,100 was for Spinal Research by the two rotary entries.
