Rolf together with John Norman and John Clark from the Grimsby Club, executive principal Jane Nolan and nursery lead teacher Emma Fitzsimmons started the project today.

What is the Library?

The Dolly Parton Imagination Library is a charity that delivers a free age-appropriate book every month to children until the age of five. The scheme is proven to improve children’s literacy levels so that they are more likely to be ready to start school when they turn five.

The Dolly Parton Imagination Library ensures that every registered child, whatever their family circumstances, receives a high quality, age related book in the post, addressed to them. There is no cost to the child's family. It’s about giving the children the joy of being read too and eventually of reading.

Each pupil in the school's nursery class will receive a book each month for the next three years. A number of parents attended the launch meeting today and each child took home their first book - a Peter Rabbit story.
