VIP treat for three local families - Steam Rally

Three worthy families enjoyed the VIP treatment with all the fun of the fair and a sumptuous afternoon tea thanks to Rotary Lytham and Lytham Hall at the weekend.
They had been chosen from among nearly 20 deserving families who had been nominated by local Facebookers and Express readers, with judges Rotary Lytham President John Edwards and Rotarian Robert Dunn admitting it had not been an easy task.
Victoria Cardwell, of Smithy Lane, St Annes, was keen to say thank you to her parents for all they had done for her when her son Zachary was born last December. She was taken seriously ill soon afterwards and mum and dad, who had their own health issues took over looking after Zachary and five-year-old Charlie.
Staining’s Sharon and Craig Leadbetter were nominated for all the work they do for the village, Craig turning out at any time for any emergency calls in the village and Sharon, who is a Parish Councillor, running the annual Scarecrow Competition and regular Open Mic Nights and Pub Quizzes at The Plough for her chosen charities.
Ansdell’s Elizabeth Dee also enjoyed a couple of hours of relaxation at the rally with hubby Justin and elder son William, slotting it between her busy round of raising funds for the Edward Dee Fund and awareness of meningitis and sepsis, which claimed the life of her son Edward 18 months ago.
