President Ken Cooke

A little about our Dronfield Rotary Club President

Ken was born in Sheffield and started his career in Engineering at Edward Pryor's Ltd. He served his apprenticeship whilst at this company and studied at Granville college but his ambition was to start his own business, so at 22 he started CTW (Hardfacing ) Ltd and to this day  the company is well known and respected throughout the UK.

His passion was always Sheffield Wednesday and in 2003 he was invited to join the board of the club and jumped at the chance, following on from this he was honoured to be elected in 2017 as the Master Cutler of the Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire . As Master Cutler he represented the regions manufacturers and worked to publicise the city and region throughout the UK and in Europe.

In this post he had the opportunity to visit many innovative manufacturing companies and also saw first hand the assistance so many charities are giving to their local communities. His chosen Charity for the year was Bluebell Wood and the campaign raised £240,000 for this worthwhile cause.

Over the years  in Dronfield he has been Chairman of  Round table and President of 41 club and being President of Dronfield Rotary Club gives him and opportunity to once more be involved with the community in his home town.

During his year the club will continue to be involved with helping local schools, providing funding fo our local food bank and raising funds for local projects etc, all of which are made possible by contributions from our community through our weekly Dronfield Community Lottery and Santas sledge.
