President Liz Hepworth

A little about our Dronfield Rotary Club President

Liz has been a member of the Rotary Club of Dronfield for 7 years. She has been Club Secretary for 6 of those years

Liz has supported many charities and local causes and during Covid lockdown formed 'Dronfield Knitters for the Homeless. This gave people who were on their own to meet (virtually) other knitters.A grant from DCC enabled Liz to buy and distribute wool. The hats/scarves/gloves were donated to Homeless shelters in Sheffield and Chesterfield.

Liz Co-ordinates Santa's Sleigh and has worked to get our local businesses involved both by sponsorship and 'walking the streets with the Sleigh. Raising funds to continue our Charity work in S18 and to respond to disasters overseas.

Liz has been very proactive since Russia invaded Ukraine both with getting grants to support humanitarian work in Ukraine and to support and care for our Ukrainian guests in S18. Liz has worked closely with RC Warsaw Wilenau and a wonderful group of local people who welcomed our guests in to their homes and their hearts.

President Liz is working on a Global Grant from Rotary Foundation to fund a clinic, train staff and purchase a state of the art 3D printer to make prosthetics for those injured in this inhumane war. Liz is asking other UK, European and American Rotary Clubs to join in and make this project a success

Liz is very proud to be a Rotarian and to lead our Club this year

Our International motto this year is 'Create Hope in the World' and we will strive to achieve this during this Rotary year
