Joe Woollcott who is a fundraiser for Brain Tumour Research gave us an informative and moving talk about the work of the charity. Brain cancers are the kill more children and people under the age of 40 than any other cancers yet only 1% of the money spent in cancer research is allocated to brain tumours. The BTR is dedicated to changing this through fundraising, advocating for better resources and providing centres of excellence to develop new treatments. Judging from the number of questions after his talk, Joe had certainly been sucessful in increasing our awareness of brain tumours and making us think about what we could do to help.
