Rotary Grants - Guidance

Guidance on Rotary Club of Bath Charitable grants

ROTARY CLUB OF BATH  COMMUNITY SERVICE GRANTS

The Community Service Committee of the Rotary Club of Bath will consider applications from organisations and projects addressing the following needs within Bath and North East Somerset:

  1. Assisting the elderly, homeless, those in poverty and the disadvantaged.
  2. Youth - to support training (outside educational establishments), assist character/personal development, increase employment prospects.
  3. Education to promote learning and community values within primary, secondary & tertiary education.
  4. Health Care- where not provided by the NHS.
  5. Other needs on a case-by-case basis. (Culture, Arts, Environmental and Social Enterprise)

Priority will be given to supporting organisations and projects which benefit local people within Bath, those in which Bath Rotarians are involved, small charities and those who have little alternative sources of funding.

Priority will normally be given to registered charities. However, consideration may be given to organisations which are for charitable purposes, have an effective management structure, a set of rules under which the organisation operates and a bank account in its name, with a minimum of two signatories.

Grants to individuals will not normally be considered.

Whilst no constraints will be placed on the amount an organization may request for approval by the Committee, there will be a bias towards serving a greater number of smaller charities rather than a fewer number of larger ones. An overriding consideration will be the amount of funds available. The committee may consider supporting an organisation for up to a maximum of 3 years. However, applications for further grants will not normally be considered for repeat applicants until three years after the award of a previous grant.

Grants can be for capital equipment or ongoing revenue costs. Grants are unlikely to be made towards the cost of an existing salaried position.

Questions should be sent to Trevor Dawson at trevord@aimest.co.uk

Applications should be made using either the on-line application form or by downloading the Word document below and sending it attached to an email to the above Email address.
