New Year – New Opportunities – Newport Pagnell Rotary

The start of a new decade brings new opportunities to us all and that includes Newport Pagnell Rotary.

We ended the last decade carrying out our usual Bucket Shaking collections around the area, including Newport Pagnell, Olney and Tesco at Kingston. This is an activity which involves all of the members and enables money to be raised for good causes and at the same time meet members of the public to get the Rotary message across.

Newport Pagnell Rotary wishes to thank all of the citizens in the locality who placed money into our buckets, contributions which will help to make a difference to those less fortunate individuals needing help and support. It is heart warming to experience the generosity of the public at this time of year!

Fundraising for Willen Hospice and other Rotary approved charities has been an annual Christmas activity for us for many years and involves bucket collections at strategic locations.

Now that it’s the new year, it’s time to start planning some fun events including a Frugal Lunch and, next month, a Winter Warming party for the Club and its friends. We are also working on plans for another May Fayre in Newport Pagnell and a concert at Newport Pagnell Parish Church in June.

We need a few more volunteers for these events and so, if you are at all interested, please come along and talk to us at one of our Wednesday evening meetings in the Swan Revived Hotel in Newport Pagnell at 7.30pm. You would be most welcome and you would find that our members – ladies and gentlemen -  would be happy to answer any questions you might have without any obligation.
