Tree of Light

"Buy" a light to remember a loved one, all money goes to the President's chosen LOCAL charity.

Update - we are pleased to announce that almost £1,000 was raised.  A wonderful achievement and many thanks to all the members of the public who supported this effort.  Our Club increased this amount to £1,500 which we have donated to Rucksacks 4 Homeless.  Also we are sending £200 to Sainsburys for their charities as a thank you for allowing us to use their store.

Background

The Tree of Light project has raised more than £35,000 for local causes since its inception in 2003. Each December we erect a Christmas tree outside Sainsburys and invite people to sponsor a light in memory of a loved one. The Tree has become a Brighouse institution. Additional money is raised through collections in Sainsburys. The tree is there until New Year and many subscribers donate year after year.
