VE/VJ 75th Anniversary

Our celebration concerts for the 75th anniversary of VE and VJ Day have been rearranged.

Postponed from May and August last year ... Exmouth Raleigh Rotary are proud to present the 75th Anniversaries of VE and VJ Celebrations at the Exmouth Pavilion. 2021 also Celebrates the Centenary of the Royal British Legion with local Branches presenting their Standards and will also be benefitting from the Concerts.

In March we will be royally entertained by AJ's Big Band, the South West's foremost 17-piece big band, specialising in the unforgettable music of the swing era. The band plays a wide range of music, from the 1930s through to more contemporary arrangements, with an emphasis on classic tunes made famous by the likes of Glenn Miller and Count Basie.

Their shows also always feature a wealth of great songs including the timeless hits of stars such as Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald.

Then in May there is a celebration concert with music from the award winning SWComms Band and supporting music and song from Exmouth Musical Theatre Company. The Programme of nostalgia and war-time songs ending with patriotic Proms Finale.

The late Dame Vera Lynn sent a personal message to be read at our Concerts and will be remembered this evening with songs she made famous.

With bunting and the walls of the Pavilion bedecked with flags of the Allied Forces, a really wonderful night of Remembrance and Celebration.

Everyone will be given a flag, there will be much flag waving and happy memories now that we can all be together again.
