Our annual Art & Craft Fair, staged jointly with our friends at Vale of Belvoir Rotary, took place on the first weekend in July. There were a couple of differences this year. Firstly, we have moved it from the traditional Easter date; and secondly, we were for the first time at the Blue Diamond Garden Centre in East Bridgford.
This new venue allowed us a larger space than the previous venue – which was fortunate as we had more art works on display this year – and allowed plenty of space for the craft stalls. Plenty of customers passed through, either heading for the plant sales area or taking children to the Playbarn. After offloading the children and before loading up with plants or heading for a coffee, many of them visited the craft stalls and admired the works of art.
This year’s fair was in aid of both the Linc & Notts Air Ambulance and local First Responders, two organisations that provide a vital service in our communities. Supporters and volunteers of both charities were in attendance to help with raffle ticket sales and to provide information.
The new venue was excellent and was a major contributor to the success of the event. Our thanks are due to Blue Diamond, who allowed us to use the venue at no cost.
Details of the funds raised will be posted here once the accounts have been finalised.
