Sea Sheppey

Our Buxom Wenches

On Sunday 24th September the club held a tombola at the Sea Sheppey event.

This was held in the historical area next to Sheerness Docks called Blue Town. This once densly populated area was a hive of activity in years gone by. However, in more recent years it has become run down, there are very few houses there, and no industry related to the dock yard.

The Sea Sheppey group re-enacted the traditional rush of workers on their bicycles through Blue Town High Street when the dock yard hooter signaled the end of the shift. They also dressed the fronts of the empty shops to replicate their original uses.

The group, The Rotary Club and other organisations local traders had stalls and made the day very successful.

We raised £300.00p for local charities.
