There were 22 people present for Breakfast this morning, including two Assistant Governors, from Ilminster and Wells, to see what we are doing.
Special guest was Johnnie Halliday, who took up his one-year appointment as High Sheriff of Somerset on 24th March. He spoke about the duties of the role supporting all elements of the judiciary and the police. He has also been involved in the two recent Royal visits to the county - HM The Queen to Castle Cary and Bruton, and HRH The Princess Royal to open the new UKHO building in Taunton. A particular focus will be Pathways to Apprenticeships, a programme to support 13/14 year olds from disadvantaged backgrounds to work towards an apprenticeship by building confidence through outbound days and interactions with businesses.
