James doesn't quite climb every mountain

James Lamb

James Lamb spoke and showed videos of how the Sherpas risk their lives in support of people who want to climb Everest. They get paid very little for this. However, having met a monk, Tashi Lama, on one of his trips to Nepal, James set up a trekking agency using local guides. The profits go to help the community and educate the children.

It has been four years since Nepal suffered an earthquake which killed 9,000 people, ruined water supplies and destroyed key buildings. During this time, Durham Rotary have been raising funds to help them and today President Tony Ford presented a cheque for £7,700 to go towards the building of a new medical clinic.
