Dinner and speaker at the Baron in Bucknell

Wed, Jan 29th 2020 at 7:15 pm - 9:30 pm

Tonight we heard from Helen of the Bracken Trust, a charity supporting those with cancer and their families.

This was fascinating talk by an inspirational Helen who is a trained nurse but also spreads the word about what the Bracken does, it's origins, it's funding and of course it's aims. The latter is to be there in any capacity for anyone living with, or recovering from, cancer as well as their famiies, carers and friends. As you can see from the slideshow above they offer a huge range of services and while based in Llandrindod Wells, they have out reach centres across Powys. At the end of this very interesting talk we thanked Helen profusely and presented her with a £50 cheque to add to the £300 we donated to them during Ivan's Presidential year. Founder member Roy was so inspired that he promised to make a generous donation to the charity following his "86 miles for 86 years" walk later in the year. Many to Roy and to Helen for her time tonight.
