President Douglas Dow welcomed ten other members, guest speaker Louis Romeo, and guests Maura Gallacher and Gillian Folwell.
Louis, a Waitrose wines and spirits specialist who has also worked for Oddbins and Peckhams, spoke about and provided discreet samples of Isle of Harris Gin, which is produced partly to boost development for the island and its people.
The Tarbert distillery, which opened in 2015, employs 20 office staff and five distillers, and the easiest and cheapest way to obtain it is by using the distillery's website. The vote of thanks was proposed by Alastair Wilson.
The weekly raffle for a whisky miniature was won by Adam Muggoch.
