Past-President Pat presented cheques from the Club to her two charities;     £2,485 to Emma and Sue for Open Your Heart to Bhutan and £2,931 to      Leila for Pilgrim’s Hospice.

Neil Fraser and Bob Anderson:

Neil and Bob brought greeting from RC Canterbury.     Neil put forward a      proposal that a group of local Clubs join together to support one local       charity and jointly go for a District Grant.      RC Canterbury was founded 97 years ago and in that time has supported a wide range of local and            international charities.     One of their current local charities is the Honey      Bears Nursery, an assessment centre staffed by doctors and nurses         from Kent and Canterbury Hospital which provides early intervention            and             support to life-threatened children from birth to 3 years-old.               The Club has recently provided the Nursery with a specially designed        swing but would like to do more and is approaching  Clubs at Herne Bay,     Whitstable, Canterbury, Forest of Blean and Chestfield to join together to      seek a             District Grant and to make a major donation of at least £5,000  for      the provision of a wide range of equipment for the Nursery.

Andy Dale and John Gisbey:

Andy and John brought greetings from RC Sandwich which also supports      Open Your Heart to Bhutan for which they are hoping to achieve a global     grant.    In conjunction with RC Thimpu they are inviting Rotarians and          their spouses to a five-day, four-night conference in the Kingdom of   Bhutan for which details accompany these minutes.
