Vice president Ron chaired the meeting.
Grace by Paul.
Thought for the week.
Birthdays; Lesley - 1st October.
Jenny Sampers memorial service was held at Canterbury Cathedral on
Friday 20th September. A beautiful service including a thoughtful address
from the Dean.
Attendees from Chestfield Rotary Club as follows: Nick, Marian, Sue,
Elaine, Maureen, Ian, David K and Iain.
Ron, Andrew B and Hilary attended a pursuits day at Greenfields on 20th
September. A charity event organised by Forest of Blean. Even with the
help of Caroline (Forest of Blean) we managed to obtain the remarkable
position of 22nd out of 24. I also believe two of the teams failed to show.
We will hopefully do better next year.
Nick wins caption competition with ‘Disguised as a newspaper, Boris
peered into Jeremys mind’. Well done Nick.
Next weeks meeting (3rd October) we will meet Bilbo with his handler
Janet West who will give a talk on Hearing Dogs.
Also on the 3rd we have a visit to Whitstable Museum organised by Kathy.
The event is between 6-8pm, but could everybody be there before kick off
time. The cost is £5.00 per head which Kathy will collect on the night.
Any other business:
Dates for Appledor – 5-7th June 2020, has been suggested.
Members were reminded to complete forms in event folder even if not
attending.
Escape rooms on the 15th October is now full. We do have two reserves
should we have any cancellations.
The dinner at my house is also fully booked. The first one on 30th
November and two further dates I will confirm shortly.
Visit and greetings: President Andrew – Whitstable. President Sue,
Pleasant Hill, District 5160, California and President Paul from Sheppey.
Sheppey Rotary are trying to raise £18,000 for a building project in
Uganda. To this means they are asking people to join them on a drive from
Maidstone to Monaco. You just have to supply a car. Kathy has further
details on request.

Grace given by Robert.
Final reminder to everyone, Lesley is now back and will be carrying on her
role as meal steward.
Meeting ended 8.25 am.
