Georgina Baker:
Georgina sent Christmas greetings to everyone. She will be donating to Mercy Ships instead of sending cards this year.
Alzheimer’s Research:
The Club has received a Christmas card from Alzheimer’s Research with thanks for support in the past year.
Evolve:
Congratulations to the team from Queen Elizabeth’s School, Faversham which won the World Championship in Abu Dhabi
Blean Primary School:
Sue circulated a thank you from Blean Primary for the books supplied to the school by the Club.
Godfrey and Sharon’s Fundraising Dinner, Saturday, November 30th:
Many thanks to Godfrey, Sharon and their daughter Clare who did the cooking for a very enjoyable dinner which raised £200.00 for Club charities.
Walk4Water Presentation:
At the breakfast meeting next Thursday, December 5th David M. presented a video presenting the work of The Water Project, the new matchfunding partner for Walk4Water. Five schools have signed up for next year.
Saturday, December 7th, Car Parking:
The next car parking will be on Saturday, December 7th and Godfrey could do with more help to sign up.
Saturday, December 7th, Christmas Dinner:
The Christmas Dinner at will be at Mucini’s, 1-3 St. Anne’s Road, Tankerton, CT5 2DN at 7.00 for 7.30 pm.
Sunday, December 8th, Christmas Collection:
The Christmas Collection will be on Sunday, December 8th meeting near the junction of Primrose Way and Chestfield Road at 4.00 pm. Could the Elves please remember to wrap up warm and bring a torch. Elf and Safety has caught up with Santa and Paul will be asking everyone to read and sign a risk assessment.
Monday, December 9th, Packing Christmas Collection:
Packing the Christmas Collection will take place and Jean and Andrew’s House, Willow Cottage, Church Street, Whitstable, CT5 1PG starting at 10.00 am.
Tuesday, December 10th, Christmas Decorations at the Whit and Tank:
Putting up the Christmas decorations at the Whit and Tank will be on Tuesday, December 10th meeting at the hospital at 6.00 pm. As the wards have recently been repainted it will not be possible to attach anything to the walls or the ceilings but there will be Christmas trees to be decorated.
Thursday, December 12th, Speaker Auryn Memmott, Boy Scout:
Auryn is raising funding to attend EuroJam, a Europe-wide scout jamboree in Poland next year.
Thursday, December 12th, Board Meeting:
The next meeting of the Board will be on Thursday, December 12th at 7.30 pm at Sue’s house.
Wednesday, January 22nd Visit to Rotary Radio followed by Dinner with RC Minster:
There is a form in the folder. Rotary Radio is in the former Criterion Theatre in Blue Town and we will meet there at 4.00 and, afterwards, will join RC Minster on Sea for dinner.
Saturday, February, 1st, Second Round Young Chef Competition:
Many thanks to Owain, Kathy and Robert and especial thanks to Chris Edwards for a very successful first round on November 23rd. The second will take place on February 1st.
Friday, February 28th, Ten-pin Bowling and Meal:
There is a form in the folder so please sign up. Meet at the Bowling Alley, Tower Parade, Whitstable, CT5 2BJ at 6.00 pm for 6.30 pm. A meal afterwards will be organised at a restaurant to be announced.
Raffle:
Godfrey won a bottle of wine.
Master of Alms:
Today was International Ninja Day and somehow Nick managed to use that to take money off everyone.
