Minutes of the Meeting

Held on Thursday, February 13th  2020

                                             At The Golf Club, Chestfield

Lesley Robertson:

            Lesley is still experiencing some pain but is otherwise recovering well from her       operation.

John Graham:

            John is hoping to hear soon when he will get his driving licence back.

Wendy Tetley:

            Wendy is better after an infection scare.  

Club Notice Board:

            The Club notice board on Chestfield Road by the shops is now up and running         and has details of Club activities.

Crocus Brooches:

            The crocus brooches are now available and will be on sale at the car parking on      Saturday.

Thursday, February 13th, Board Meeting:

            There will be a meeting of the Board tonight, February 13th at Sue’s   house at         7.30 pm.

Thursday, February 20th, Evening Meeting:

            The meeting next week will be an evening meeting at 7.00 for 7.30 pm at       the       Golf Club when the speaker will be founder member Peter Warr who    will be             talking about Team Tanzania.       The cost will be £17.50 per         person and guests    are welcome.   This is a normal meeting of the Club and             everyone is expected to       be there unless apologies are sent as usual to Lesley.

Saturday, February 15th Car Parking:

            As always, Godfrey would always welcome more help on Saturday.

Saturday, February 15th, Godfrey and Sharon’s Dinner:

            Godfrey and Sharon’s next Dinner will be on Saturday, February 15th.            Please note that the date of their third dinner has been changed.

Tuesday, February 18th, Meeting to Discuss Satellite Club:

            A dinner meeting of local Clubs will be held at the Marine Hotel on      Tuesday,         February 18th at 6.15 for 6.30 pm to discuss the formation of a     satellite club.              The cost of the meal will be £17.00.

Friday, February 28th, Ten-pin Bowling with Meal at Mucini’s:

            The next ten-pin bowling will be on Friday, February 28th followed by a         meal afterwards at Mucini’s.    Please let Godfrey have your menu choices if you    have not already done so.

Friday, March 13th, Kent College Interact Murder Mystery Evening:

            Kent College Interact are holding a Murder Mystery Evening on Friday,          March 13th at 7.00 for 7.30 pm at the college on Whitstable Road,                       Canterbury, CT2 9DT.    The cost will be £10.00 per person but     bring your own         food and drink.  

Friday, March 20th, Walk4Water:

            Walk4Water will be on Friday, March 20th when approximately 120    children          will be walking at the University Sports Centre; another 1200          will be walking at      their schools.     David M. has circulated details to everyone who has signed    up but numbers are tight so he needs everyone to turn up: please let him know as soon as you can if you are unlikely to  make it.       Hilary is organising a lunch             afterwards at the Royal Oak and     details will be available soon.

Saturday, April 25th, TWAM Collection:

            Posters are now available and everyone is asked to take some and put them up        wherever they can..

Friday, May 8th, Pat and Sue’s SkyDive:

            See Pat and Sue come down in the world when they will be SkyDiving at        Headcorn Aerodrome, Headcorn, Ashford, TN27 9HX on Friday, May 8th to raise         funds for charity.    They would welcome support on the day and expect to   dive around 9.00 am to 9.30 am.      

Raffle:

            Spyros won a bottle of wine which he kindly put back for next week and        Jackie won a calendar.

Master of Alms:

   Godfrey stood in for Nick and did very well.
