Stan Keller turned up today with a new Club pop-up banner to join our existing two. They come in very useful at Club events and indoors fund-raising activities. They are not so useful outdoors as they have a tendency to blow over unless they are anchored somehow.

Our speaker was Robert Macaulay, the District representative of the Rotary Foundation. He said he was delighted to be able to tell us that we had been awarded a District Matching Grant for our project in Sierra Leone.

Each year the committee is worried that it may not have enough funds to make the Matching Grants it may wish. So far there has been enough but each Rotarian needs to play his or her part by supporting the Foundation financially. Our Club has been good at supporting the Foundation in the past. Robert urged each one of us to become a Sustaining Member (pledged to donate at least $100 each Rotary year). He also suggested we might consider leaving money to Rotary Foundation UK in our wills.
