Lex Dunlop explains to members how a modern pipe organ works

Instead of a speaker, Rotarian Lex Dunlop took fellow members to Blairgowrie Parish Church, where he is the organist. He explained how a modern pipe organ - with around 1000 pipes - works. We now understand “Great” and “Swell” keyboards, and the purpose of the “stops”. Lex then showed the more intrepid members the system of pipes, and the ladders and walkways necessary to reach them. We came away better informed - and impressed with the skills an organist needs
