Another Great Music For Everyone Concert

On June 15th, the Rotary Club hosted its annual Ipswich G&S Singers “Music for Everyone” summer concert at St Johns Church in Felixstowe.   The night was not only about enjoying a great summer concert but was arranged as a way of raising funds for one of Rotary International’s major programmes of Worldwide Polio Eradication.

As in previous years, the evening featured varied material with many well-loved and popular melodies from classical to pop including music from television, stage and screen, humorous songs, serious songs, bizarre songs, combinations of different words/music and – of course – some Gilbert & Sullivan.

The evening saw 125 people attending and contributing through paying for a ticket but also participating in the popular raffle.  This year saw net proceeds from the night of £1,200 and this figure was trebled by matched funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which means that the polio programme benefited from the event to the tune of £3,600, so a highly successful night it was.
