Rotarian Susan Bishop became only the second woman President in the 90 year history of the Club.Junior Vice President Mark Wilton took over as Senior Vice President and Vince Harris became Junior Vice President.
Outgoing President Jim Beaman said “My year in office has passed very quickly and there have been many highlights. Perhaps the most notable was the Dinner which we held to celebrate our 90thbirthday. A really memorable occasion with our District Governor Joan Goldsmith in attendance.” He went on to remind members that during the year over £13,500 had been raised for many Charitable Causes. Of that amount £3,300 had been donated to the Anthony Nolan Trust which was his nominated Charity for the year.
On being appointed President Susan Bishop said “ It’s a great honour to become President of such a prestigious club. Little did I realise that 7 years ago when I became a Rotarian I would aspire to such a high office. I am truly overwhelmed and grateful to my fellow members for giving me this opportunity.” She added that she had many events planned for her year in Office and looked forward to an exciting and enjoyable year.
