Fifth Monday Dinner

Mon, Jul 29th 2019 at 6:30 am - 11:00 pm

Held at the Hayling Island Golf Club in memory of Bob Raper in the presence of his daughter Clare Thomas

Bob Raper was Havant Rotary's second longest serving Member and a well-respected ex-President. Bob died in 2018 and left a bequest to the members to be enjoyed at a dinner in his memory. This took place at a Fifth Monday event at the Hayling Island Golf Club on Monday 29th July 2019. Meticulously organised by Rtn Derek Holmes, this was a wonderful evening for family and friends, with guest of honour Clare Thomas, Bob and Ros Raper's daughter, who had travelled from Stonehaven north of Aberdeen to celebrate his memory with us. Rtns Derek Holmes and Chris Heath spoke eloquently of Bob's life, and daughter Clare was presented with a copy of the Club's history and a memoirs book in which those who had known Bob had written a few words of their memories of him.
