Rotary Club of Paignton presented sail shades to Kings Ash Academy

Laura Kies, Headteacher of Kings Ash Academy, wrote in July 2019;
Kings Ash Academy were recently delighted to receive fantastic new sun shades above the Year 1 and Reception class outside areas thanks to the kind generosity of the Rotary Club of Paignton. The sun shades, designed to look like boat sails, have not only smartened up the appearance of the outside areas, but also provide much needed protection from the weather and rain.  Outside learning is extremely important to the children's physical development and provides opportunities for a range of learning activities linked to all areas of the curriculum. This term the children have been busy growing plants, building large scale moving vehicles and playing creatively in the mud kitchen. The staff and children of Kings Ash Academy would like to send their warmest thanks to the Rotary Club of Paignton and look forward to welcoming them back as part of their year 6 leavers celebrations where the children will be presented with dictionaries to support them as they progress on to secondary school.
