Planting for Hope, Uganda - Update

An update on how the funds donated to the Charity last month have already been put to good use

The following is an extract from a letter Appolo Saku, the charities man on site.

"On a very happy note, I take this opportunity to join my hands to thank you so much for for the solar system funds which haVE been donated to Cornerstone nursery and primary school. It's such a big blessing to this bush school where electricity is such a big dream. We have been finding it very difficult to have evening preps with the children. Teachers couldn't teach, especially the primary seven candidates who have their National exams every November of each year. Besides, lighting up the class will help other children to revise their books since we have some children who are staying in the school dormitories. They are here because they are  total orphans and others are distant children who used come to school in covered in absolute tiredness and fatigue because of the long distance they used to trek day in, day out, in the morning and in the evening. Praise God, we have the solar for them to help them do much better in their education life.

We,at Cornerstone primary school, we are so much appreciative to you and Kinver rotary club.

We have used  the funds send to get the solar panels, inverter and a powered battery and these are already installed by the engineer from Solar Now based in Masaka town. Very reputable company. The remaining balance shall be used to install the lower block which is under construction but in its last stages of completion. "
