At The little wine shop (formerly Shakespeare glass) in Foundry road, off St. James Street. 7.15 start there will be cheese, bread and charcuterie selection and a glass of wine included.Apologies as usual.


Venue- Little Wine Shop and Social, Foundry Rd., where 26 members (including Caroline Thorne from Breakfast Club) partook of a glass of wine and portions of cheese and English charcuterie in a convivial atmosphere, finishing by 8.30pm.

Business. – Moonraker. It was reported that the sponsorship of a team by HSBC to a matched total of £1000, was short by just over £100, and it was agreed to make up the difference from Club Funds to achieve the best return.

Conference 2020 organiser Richard Goring asked for MAXIMUM SUPPORT from this Club in order to back up our own Rory O’Donnell as he takes on District Governor role.

The theme will be a Summer Festival on 3rd and 4th July, in Taunton. Richard emphasised that every Taunton Vale Member will be needed to play a part and take responsibility for the organisation and performance of the Programme. The first poster/Flyer is now available with full details, {from R Goring}.

It’s a Conference, but not as you know it! Keeping prices low with a day charge of £35. The theme is FUN. With a festival spirit in the air; Dinner, street food lunch, gin bar, live entertainment, children’s activity programme/crèche hoping to attract younger attendees. Based at Taunton School, the swimming pool will be available on the Saturday, while at Rumwell Hall on the Friday, there will be a Hog Roast, with the District Handover taking place there in the evening.

President Kathryn urged everyone to note the date and keep it free for Rotary involvement.

Bird Bath presentation at Abbeyfield

Taunton Vale Rotary Club has recently celebrated their 40th Charter anniversary. To mark the occasion the Inner Wheel Club of Taunton Vale have donated a bird bath, and this was handed over to Abbeyfield Residential Home in Bishops Hull.
