Report of our Annual Quiz


Kilmarnock Rotary Club held their annual Primary Schools Quiz on 4th February 2020

Twelve schools took part in the competition - Annanhill, Crosshouse, Dunlop, Gargieston, Hillhead, James Hamilton, Kilmaurs, Lainshaw, Loanhead, Nether Robertland, Onthank and Whatriggs - which was hosted by the Kilmarnock club in the New Laigh Kirk. The six rounds of ten questions of covered topics such as geography, pictures, science and technology, potluck, history and sports, and were put to the teams by Rotary member and quiz-master Ian Geddes. 

Each team was well supported by teachers and parents and competition was fierce. In the end Gargieston Primary School came first with Nether Robertland Primary School coming a close second.

The Rotary Club of Kilmarnock congratulates Gargieston Primary School and thanks the New Laigh Kirk for the use of the premises

Charlie Boax, who attends Grange Academy, was the winner of our local Rotary Young Musician competition. On Sunday, 23 April 2023, Charlie competed in the RIGBI Young Musician Final in Manchester and was again successful.
