A Close Finish at The Rotary Club of Rayleigh Mill’s Club Golf Championship

The Rotary Club of Rayleigh Mill’s annual Club Golf Championship at The Rayleigh Club on Wednesday 18th September resulted in a close finish with John Fairweather and Martin Hodson both finishing with 35 points.

After a somewhat contentious count-back, John Fairweather emerged as this year’s champion with Martin in second place and Carl Watson in third position.

John also won the longest drive with Andrew Shackleton taking the prize for nearest the pin.

Keith Mathams took the prize for the best visitor.

The competition was followed by well deserved drinks, a meal and prize giving; a fitting end to an excellent day played out in ideal conditions among friends.
