New group has it all wrapped up

Our TotallyRotaryFY8 group leads the way in south Fylde

Autumn, and it’s that time of the year when it’s in with the new…coat that is.

So what do you do with the old one?

Providing it’s in good condition and clean, then Rotary Lytham’s TotallyRotaryFY8 team has the perfect answer.

Boxes will be appearing all over South Fylde in the next few days in which you can put discarded coats, whether they be adults’, children’s or babies’ coats. And you can be certain that they will be put to good use, for after being sorted at a central collection depot they will be redistributed among a host of local charities, where the stipulation is that they must go directly to those in need. No coats will be sold.

Part of the WrapUpLancashire project being organised by Rotary throughout the county, the scheme is being supported by Fylde Borough Council, Booths stores, YMCAFylde, Lytham Hall, Kirkham Grammar School and several other local companies and organisations where collection boxes will be available from Tuesday, 8th October until Friday, 8th November.

Coats can also be dropped off at Gillett Environmental, Boundary Road, Lytham, who are also providing storage and sorting premises for the project.

Charities already on board to receive the coats include HomeStart Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre; Fylde Women’s Refuge; Amazing Grace; United Blackpool and Care & Share.

Additional collection points and charities will be added and these can be found on the Group’s Facebook page @TotallyRotaryFY8.

This is the second project in which the group has been helping underprivileged families in the Fylde. If you would like to find out how you can help in your community you can Message the group or email
