Club visit to the Workaid Factory

Rotary in Amersham President Barbara Cursley is pictured presenting a cheque for £500 to Adrian Hatch and Rob Levine of Workaid.  Based in Townsend Road,Chesham Workaid is a charity that tackles poverty by supplying disadvantaged people with the tools they need to gain practical skills and become self supporting. Since 1986, 150,000 people

have learnt a trade with the tools Workaid has donated.

Tools and equipment are collected from all over the UK. These donated tools are refurbished by a team of dedicated volunteers in the Workaid workshop. They are then sent to vocational training projects, in Africa and the UK. The Workaid Charity shop in The Old Boot Factory at 71 Townsend Road Chesham HP5 2AA is open Thursday,Friday and Saturday 10am-4pm. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or would like to make a donation to the charity please call 01494 775220

Rob kindly came to our club meeting on 6th October and gave all the members a full resentation which showed in more detail how the system of collection and distribution worked.  We are proud to have such a worthwhile charity in our locality.
