Tonight we will be having a talk by the St Albans Head branch of the National Coastwatch Institution.

Please invite lots of friends, family etc, sailors, boaters, walkers who will be especially interested!

The St Albans Head, Dorset, branch of the National Coastwatch Institution is a registered charity, wholly dependent on raising funds to maintain their Lookout Station. Their primary purpose is to monitor vessels passing St Albans Head and to support the Coastguard in Search and Rescue operations, but they also assist walkers on the South Western Coast path who have problems.

They’ve contacted us with a request for funding as the Lookout is in need of major refurbishment if they are to maintain the level of competence that is required by the Coastguard. The total cost will be in the order of £40,000, so we thought we’d invite them along to tell us about their plans.
