THIS year 20 entries across the age ranges were received for the Young Photographer of the Year 2019, and so on 7th February Rotarians Paul Vaesen and Jim Anderson from the Seaford Rotary Club Youth Services Committee met with Barry Trigwell of Fotobox to carry out the difficult job of judging the entries. Each entrant had to submit three photos on this year’s subject of ‘Beauty in Nature’.
The winner in the 11 - 13 age group was Alice Granea from Seaford Head School who gave us two floral photographs and a photo of a dog enjoying himself in the countryside. President Steven Willox presented her with her prize and the winner’s certificate at a school assembly on Tuesday 5th March.
The first prize in the 14 - 18 age group went to Frankie Day of St John's School, Seaford. This is the first time that St Johns had entered any of our competitions and Frankie had taken photos from the School grounds off Firle Road. President Steven presented him with his prize and the winner’s certificate at a school assembly on Friday 8th March.
Congratulations to all 20 youngsters who took part, they presented an excellent selection of photographs.
Our thanks go to Barry Trigwell and Fotobox for their continued excellent support for our Young Photographer of the Year competition.
