Michael Gibbons, an Independent Photographer, based in Greenville, South Carolina, will join us over Zoom to talk about his career

Twenty-three members of the Rotary Club of Motherwell and Wishaw, and two guests, Michael Arthur, from the R/C of Carluke, and Kirsty Gibbons, from Australia, but currently living with her parents as a hostage to Covid-19, participated in last Thursday's "virtual" meeting over Zoom.

Our speaker was the nephew of Club members James and Katrina Gibbons, Michael Gibbons, who joined us from his home in Greenville, South Carolina, USA.

Michael is a professional photographer with an extensive portfolio of subjects ranging from, commercial assignments, lifestyle, and wildlife, just to mention a few. While outlining his career and hopes for the future, Michael treated the Members to around 50 of his photographs which clearly highlighted his many talents in his field and his obvious expertise. His fantastic photographs were greatly admired by all in attendance.

There was a question and answer session following Michael’s talk and the Vote of Thanks was proposed by Peter McCrossan who summed up the members’ appreciation and enjoyment of his presentation.

The weekly bonus ball winner was Allan Scott.

Online induction of our new President, Katrina Gibbons

For a Registration Fee, members of the Club will support cyclists, riding to raise funds for named charities.

On 15th and 22nd December, Santa, and some Rotarian helpers, toured Motherwell, then Wishaw, spreading Christmas Spirit and raising funds for various charities.

Tablets, equipped with dementia friendly apps, are delivered to two nursing homes for the use of their residents

Golf tournament, for the Douglas Clementson Trophy, participating teams being from our local secondary schools to be held at Colville Park Golf Course

An annual event for primary schools in the Larkhall area being held for the first time by the Rotary Club of Motherwell and Wishaw (previously run by Clyde Valley Rotary Club)

The members of the Rotary Club of Motherwell and Wishaw are delighted to welcome our newest recruit, David Crichton.

When asked if we could help one of our local primary schools make and build a hut for their garden projects how could we refuse, and what a fantastic day we had doing it.

As a Club, we sponsor the attendance of at least two young people on this fantastic award scheme
