Memory Cafe @Astwood Bank

Support for our older population and those with memory challenges is something that Redditch Kingfisher Rotary is keen to provide.

Christmas Carols and Decorations!

Meeting one significant need within our community, members of Redditch Kingfisher Rotary and our supporters, are relaunched the exciting Memory Café, where local people can come along, have a cup of tea and a chat with friends old and new in a safe friendly environment.

Many different people are able to benefit from the Rotary Memory Café and you can find us at Astwood Bank Club, 5 Dark Lane, Astwood Bank, Redditch  B96 6EAS. Doors are open from 2 – 4pm on the first Thursday of each month (except January and May).

The Café is a place to connect with others in a safe and inclusive environment, and our members are signed up as Dementia Friends or Champions with the Alzheimer’s Society.

The Astwood Bank Memory Café is free at the point of need, but this is only possible with on-going community support as we need to invest in resources for Café Friends to enjoy such as memory boxes and games. Our programme is designed to provide stimulating activities aimed at improving memory skills, and benefits from professional input and volunteer time. Partners and carers are included with specialist advice available to the group, along with the development of a peer-support network.

If you can help in any way or would like further information to access the Café, then please get in touch to help make Astwood Bank a dementia friendly community…
