The chief executive of Hearing Help Essex, Sophie Ede, visited the club along with her dog Rusty in October and spoke about her work with the trustees, staff, volunteers and service users. The charity provides advice and support to people living with hearing loss in Essex.
Sophie has bilateral sensorineural hearing loss and needs Rusty. He is trained to alert Sophie when she is not wearing her hearing aids by nudging her when the alarm goes off in the morning.
Club president Willie Fraser thanked Sophie for her inspirational talk and presented her with a cheque towards purchasing further maintenance boxes filled with spare part that are issued to technicians when making home visits.
