Having beaten The Perse school at Club Level, Sawston Village went on to beat Impington Village College at the District level. They now progress to the Regional round held on 21st March.
Different rules have come into force this year which require a debate system.
The adjudicator was Gillian Powell, who is a retired head - specialist in Spoken English. She had her work cut out to decide between the teams.
The Perse topic was "Should we ban palm oil products in the UK".
SVC topic was "Those in the public eye have a moral duty to uphold society's values"
The winners were Sawston Village College who go through to the next round "District Finals" which takes place on 8th February at King Edward 6th School Bury St Edmunds
