Youth Visit to Canada

Thu, Feb 9th 2006 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

Mark and Jack from Inverkip scouts entertained the club members throughly recounting their five week trip to North America. The trip was based in Calgery where they stayed with local scout families. However a great deal of time was spent travelling and living under canvas. The boys showed how well the trip had developed team spirit in that when one boy paused for breath the other immediately took over! They observed a great deal of the wildlife of Canada including bears - real close. They also took part in adventure sports and especially enjoyed white water rafting. The trip expanded their horizons and certainly made them more independent, though that does not extend to them doing their own washing at home! It was a pleasure to listen to the boys and we all wish them well in the future
