Bike Bayeux 2020

Bike Bayeux is an annual charity cycle ride organised by the Rotary Club of Poundbury through the beautiful Normandy countryside to Bayeux; Dorchester’s twin town. This is a charity event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, it is a weekend event for people wanting to take a social ride through the wonderful countryside, with the charm of the French buildings, and small villages on the way. This year will see the introduction of an additional route for the keen regular cyclists.

The event will start on Thursday 14th May at 4pm with a gathering of the participants at the Café on the Green (Poundbury) then ferry on Friday (15th May) in the morning. The ride will start and finish at Cherbourg. The route is mainly on country roads with little traffic. Hotel accommodation will be on a demi-pension basis in Ste-Mere-Eglise en route, and B&B in Bayeux where a Civic Reception is planned. Cost of £275 includes accommodation, ferry fares, coach ravel and bike luggage transport. It is expected that each rider will raise £200 towards Macmillan Cancer based at the Dorset County Hospital.
