Mon, Jan 27th 2020 at 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

A 'My Job' talk

30 Members were present. The meeting commenced with Rory, DG elect, outlining the four key priorities of the incoming worldwide President of Rotary, Holger Knack:- Polio elimination, Choose members carefully, No wrong age for Rotarians, and Support innovative Clubs.

Club Business: Kathryn advised that Martin feels the Club is in a good financial position. Bill T reported that the financial result from last year's Moonraker will be around £17,500 including Gift Aid - a very good result! Stephen Smith confirmed that the annual Disco had been a success, the Queen's Concert will be on Tuesday March 17th, and that more volunteers are required to support the Halcon Project Office. Phil indicated that 3 schools and 10 teams have signed up for the Technology Tournament on March 26th at Bishop Fox's.

Richard A gave an update on the Three Club Meeting on 21st to 24th May in Bristol, and he needs to have final numbers of those attending ASAP. The new meeting schedule will commence on March 1st, and from now on all Club meetings will be 'Opt Out'- no apology received will mean dinner has to be paid for. Roger M gave us a moving reminder that it was Holocaust Rememberance Day. The meeting ended with an insight into Richard Dyke's life, in which he took us on his journey from New Brighton, through training as a pharmacist, to Wolverhampton, Bude and Nottingham with Boots, and then to his own business in Colyton.

Next meetings: February 5th Breakfast Meeting, 10th 'Taunton Business Improvement', 17th Social, 24th '10 years of Mr Miles'

Ball Draw: Won by Richard Lees but no Joker. £255 next time and only 3 cards
