The Zuri Project - Greig Young
An update from Uganda
On Tuesday 21st January 2020, Greig Young came
to Coventry North Rotary Club and gave a talk regarding the Zuri Project, in
Kanunga, South Western Uganda. The speaker was welcomed by President Philip
Jackson. Greig was deputising for his son Ross who started the charity in 2015 to
help support the locally led development projects in the rural
communities. There are six primary schools in the area and local people needed and built a secondary school, including the cost of paying for
the teaching staff. They later grew a tea plantation to help supplement
the cost. Past President Bob Preston thanked the speaker for such an
interesting talk. This was followed by many questions. President Philip
presented Greig with a cheque and wished his charity well for the future. Rotarian Brian Sharp took the photographs.
