Global Happiness Conference Presentation

RDM teacher Fraser Boyd accompanied the four P7 pupils Ben, Ben, Michael and Fergus to Rotary lunch on Thursday 20^th February where they gave us a lively presentation on the Global Happiness Conference they had attended at the Bewdley School in Kidderminster in November 2019.

The young delegates, aged from 10 to 17 years, were selected from 14 schools representing a wide range of cultures from areas as diverse as Morocco, Palestine, Jordan, South Korea, India, Uganda and Egypt. The conference was organised by the British Council as part of their connecting classrooms project and the theme of global happiness was explored through art, music sport and film.

The pupils at RDM in Scone were among the youngest delegates. They have been teamed up with a school in Morocco and will continue to work jointly until the end of 2020 exploring themes such as gender equality and climate change.

During their presentation the boys explained how they had acquired new skills in communication, social skills, cultural understanding and team working.

The Rotary Club of Perth donated £250 to help the delegates attend the conference,

They all enjoyed meeting so many young people from different cultures and working together to produce their final show.
