Myddelton College on 23rd January

YOUNG MUSICIAN COMPETITION

The competition took place at Myddelton College on 23rd January with 10 competitors taking part. Despite the majority of those taking part being under 15 an excellent evening was enjoyed by those attending. The Adjudicators Adele Thomas, Ian Roberts and Nia Wyn Jones were pleased with the standard of the performances and awarded first place in the Vocal Section to Olivia Millington from St Brigids, with Charlotte Chalmers-Hughes of Myddelton College a close second.

Three contestants took part in the instrumental section with Harry Mead of Myddelton College, on the piano, coming first. Both winners went onto the District Final at Poulton Hall and whilst they were not in the prizes gave good performances receiving encouraging remarks from the Adjudicators.

CYSTADLEUAETH GERDDOROL IEUENCTID

Cynhaliwyd y gystadleuaeth yng Ngholeg Myddelton ar y 23ain o Ionawr gyda 10 cystadleuydd yn cymryd rhan. Er bod mwyafrif y rhai a gymerodd ran o dan 15 oed, mwynhawyd noson ragorol gan y rhai a oedd yn bresennol. Roedd y Dyfarnwyr Adele Thomas, Ian Roberts a Nia Wyn Jones yn falch o safon y perfformiadau ac fe wnaethant ddyfarnu'r lle cyntaf yn yr Adran Lleisiol i Olivia Millington o St Brigids, gyda Charlotte Chalmers-Hughes o Goleg Myddelton yn ail agos iawn.

Cymerodd tri chystadleuydd ran yn yr adran offerynnol gyda Harry Mead o Goleg Myddelton, ar y piano, yn dod yn gyntaf. Aeth y ddau enillydd i'r Rownd Derfynol Ardal yn Poulton Hall a thra nad oeddent yn y gwobrau fe wnaethant roi perfformiadau da gan dderbyn sylwadau calonogol gan y Dyfarnwyr.
