Fleet Rotary Young Musician Competition winners announced. Philippe Cheong and Kennedy Byrne go forward to District Finals at Bramley on 23rd February

Five young musicians competed in the local round of the Young Musician Competition, organised by Fleet Rotary, on Saturday 8th Februray, 2020, at St Nicholas' School, Fleet.

Parents, friends and guests  were entertained by two vocalists and three instrumentalists, who all gave very skilled performances, including vocals by Schwartz and RR Bennett, together with classical pieces by Mozart, Chopin, and Handel through to Kern and Greenwood.

The adjudicators, Toby Coles and Sarah Field, gave very clear and encouraging feedback to each entrant, and judged 1st and 2nd in each category as:

2nd                  Alice Cleak - Trombone                  Alice Mackintosh

Certificates were presented to each competitor and a prize to both winners by President Malcolm Inglis.

Philippe and Kennedy will go forward to the Rotary District finals at Bramley on 23rd February.
