Young Chef District Final

A very tasty event at North Herts College Hitchin


Last weekend saw a very tasty District Young Chef final at North Herts College in Hitchin.

 The winner was Joe Hallesy, Age 13yrs and is menue consisted of

Starter- Seared Scallops & Chilli Spiced Cucumber
Main- Supergreen  Spaghetti & Poached Egg
Dessert- Cherry Chocolate Mousse

The Runner up was Kiera Bonilla Palmer, Age 12yrs with an equally tasty menu

Starter - Fresh smoked Mackerel Pate with fresh wholemeal Pitta Bread
Main - Tangy Lemon Chicken with Steaming fresh Rice and tangy Asparagus
Desert - Blackberry & Apple Crumble and custard

Gemma McManus won a highly commended for the best desert and Ami Giles for her starter of the best scotch egg the judge had seen, it was perfect.  James Mayne won Best Dressed Table.

MKGU Bursary Awards to Catherine Agunede, Shinta Francis & Rochelle Archer

The Bursary Awards are made each year to students studying for careers in the public sector. This year's award of £300 each was made to students at MK University Hospital NHS Trust, Catherine Agunede, Shinta Francis & Rochelle Archer.
